Abstract

In the current era of globalization, music is the main entertainment and is sought after by many people, especially young people, because they think music can express themselves, especially after being tired of working or studying. However, the rise of organizing music concerts is currently a problem, because many promoters are new and incompetent and have no experience in making music concert performances. The cancellations of concerts that have occurred recently have caused many concert-goers to suffer losses and until now there are still many who have not received clarity and there has been no refund from the promoter. this is rampant because of the great public desire for concerts.

This research method uses the Normative Juridical Method in which the law is conceptualized as what is written in the legislation. By using data collection techniques in the form of document studies related to data related to research, which is carried out such as legislation and also conceptual related to this research. The purpose of this research is also to find out what are the legal rights to the cancellation of the promoter agreement against consumers and also to find out what mechanisms can be carried out by consumers who are harmed. In this research the author uses a qualitative normative analysis method whose research results are presented in a descriptive analysis.

The conclusion obtained from this research is that the legal consequences of canceling the fosfen music festival concert, the promoter is responsible for canceling the music concert and must compensate for all losses suffered by consumers. While the mechanism if the promoter as a business actor does not fulfill its obligations, the aggrieved consumer can sue the promoter to BPSK or the District Court.
