PERAN UNHCR DALAM MENANGANI ISU PENGUNGSI DI YORDANIA MELALUI ANGELINA JOLIE SEBAGAI UTUSAN KHUSUS UNCHR
Abstract
The significant increase in the number of Syrian refugees in Jordan has caused all existing facilities to experience shortages and limitations. With no peace in sight for the ongoing conflict, Jordan has had to take them in as a neighboring country. UNHCR, through Angelina Jolie as its Special Envoy, is focused on providing refugee living facilities and actively highlighting the situation there. This study employs a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach, using online data collection techniques and literature reviews such as the official UNHCR website, articles, journals, books, and relevant literature. This study focuses on three concepts of roles according to Biddle & Biddle: Motivator, Communicator, and Mediator. The results of the study indicate that UNHCR fulfills these three concepts through Angelina Jolie as its instrument.
