DAMPAK TRADE WAR REPUBLIK RAKYAT TIONGKOK DAN AMERIKA SERIKAT TERHADAP EKONOMI VIETNAM
Abstract
This journal examines the economic impact obtained by Vietnam, due to the trade war between the People's Republic of China and the United States. Where the People's Republic of China and the United States are looking for ways and strategies to reduce the losses experienced by each country due to the application of tariffs on export products that will enter the two countries. One of the strategies used is to make Vietnam an intermediary for import-export activities by the People's Republic of China and the United States, therefore Vietnam is directly affected by the trade war. Liberalism and the concepts of international political economy, international cooperation, and free trade are the theoretical frameworks used in analysing this research. The type of research used is qualitative, because the data presented is more in the form of text or words, not in the form of numbers, then analysed as in qualitative research in general. The descriptive analysis research method was also used in this research to make a description systematically, accurately and factually related to the phenomenon under study. The research results of the impact of the trade war between the People's Republic of China and the United States show that there is a positive development and growth of the Vietnamese economy, an increase in foreign investment, changes in leading sectors, changes in Vietnam's export and import patterns, and there are also policy changes in the Vietnamese economy after the trade war occurred.
