Abstract

This article examines the performance evaluation of village officials in the
administration of village governance in Jambudipa Village, Cisarua District, West
Bandung Regency. The study is grounded in the importance of village officials as the
frontline actors in public service delivery, administrative management, community
development, and the implementation of village government programs. This research
uses a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collected through in-depth
interviews, observation, and documentation. Informants include the village head,
village secretary, village officials, the chairperson of the Village Consultative Body,
and community leaders. The analysis applies public bureaucracy performance
indicators, namely productivity, service quality, responsiveness, responsibility, and
accountability. The findings show that the performance of village officials in
Jambudipa Village is generally adequate and has supported the implementation of
effective village governance. In terms of productivity, village officials are able to
complete tasks and programs according to the planned schedule, although limited
human resources and uneven staff capacity still affect performance optimization.
Service quality is relatively good, as reflected in clear administrative procedures and
transparent services, but service speed and efficiency still need improvement.
Responsiveness is shown through the ability of village officials to respond to
community aspirations, complaints, and needs, although proactive information
delivery should be strengthened. Responsibility is reflected in the commitment of
village officials to carry out their duties according to regulations and administrative
principles. Accountability is maintained through routine administrative and financial
reporting, but stronger documentation, supervision, and public transparency are still
needed. This article concludes that improving the performance of village officials
requires capacity building, better service standards, stronger information
management, and enhanced accountability mechanisms.
