PERAN UNITED NATIONS ASSISTANCE MISSION IN AFGHANISTAN (UNAMA) DALAM MEMBERIKAN PERLINDUNGAN PEREMPUAN DI AFGHANISTAN 2021 – 2023

Abstract
The return of the Taliban group has tightened the rules by placing extreme restrictions on women's rights and the media. Over the past two years, Taliban authorities have ignored women's rights to education, employment, movement and assembly. Seeing the existing situation with a long and ongoing history of conflict. The international community led by the United States held a conference that resulted in the
Bonn Agreement. Based on this decision, UNAMA was formed. This research aims to explore the role of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) in providing protection for women in Afghanistan. The type used in this research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a library research type of research, where the data in this research is analyzed using content analysis sourced from books, journals and related literature. This analysis provides an understanding of the efforts made by UNAMA to provide protection for women in Afghanistan. The results of this research show that UNAMA plays a role in providing protection for women in Afghanistan, although not significantly. The efforts made by UNAMA are through monitoring, documentation and advocacy as well as collaboration with various organizations orother parties to advance women's rights in Afghanistan.
