Focus and Scope

Global Insights Journal is a scholarly journal in the field of International Relations, published in March, June, September and December by the School of International Relations at the Faculty of Social and Political Science, Jenderal Achmad Yani University (UNJANI) in Cimahi, Indonesia. This journal encompasses a broad spectrum of subject areas, including security studies, diplomacy, global political economy, ecological concerns, foreign policy, regionalism, peace and conflict studies, transnational matters, and more. Global Insights Journal signifies that submitted articles must address global issues and offer global perspectives.

The Editorial Board enthusiastically invites submissions from academics, researchers, and practitioners, both local and international, to contribute to our collective understanding of global dynamics. We aim to foster a rich discourse on international affairs and encourage diverse viewpoints.

Peer Review Process / Policy

This journal uses double-blind review, which means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewersand vice versa, throughout the review process.  To facilitate this, authors need to ensure that their manuscripts are prepared in a way that does not give away their identity. Every submitted article is independently reviewed by at least two peer-reviewer. The decision for publication, revision, or rejection is based upon their reports/recommendation. After being reviewed, there will be four kinds of editor decision based on reviewers’ recommendation:
1. Accept Submission
The submission will be accepted without revisions.
2. Revisions Required
The submission will be accepted after minor changes have been made.
3. Resubmit for Review
The submission needs to be re-worked, but with significant changes, may be accepted. It will require a second round of review, however.
4. Decline Submission
The submission will not be published in the journal.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. All articles published Open Access will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read and download. We are continuously working with our author communities to select the best choice of license options, Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0).


Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. 


Plagiarism Check

Articles submitted to Global Insight Journal will be filtered first to avoid plagiarism using Plagiarism Checker Software and Google-based search engines. The decision on the manuscript for the next process depends very much on the level of originality and the level of similarity of the articles received with other previously published articles.


Publication Ethics

Global Insights Journal adheres to the ethical guidelines for journal publications put forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). 

Ethical Guideline for Journal Publication
The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed Global Insights Journal journal is an essential in the developing of a respected network of knowledge. It is a reflection of the quality of the journal and the institutions. Peer-reviewed articles manages the scientific method. So, it is important to agree upon standards of ethical behavior for all parties involved in the journal publishing process: the author, the journal editor, the reviewers, the publisher and the society.
 
Publication decisions
The editor board of the Global Insights Journal journal is responsible in deciding which are articles should be published. The reserachers and readers must respect the decision of the editorial board. The editors should be guided by the policies of the journal's editorial board.
 
Fair play
Editors are evaluating articles content without regard to gender, race, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship sexual orientation, or political philosophy of the authors. Confidentiality
The editor and editorial staffs must confidentialy any information about a submitted articles to anyone other.
 
Disclosure and conflicts of interest
Unpublished articles must not be used in an editor's own research without the permissions of the authors.

Duties of Reviewers

1. Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Reviewers assists the editor in making decisions, and also communicate through the editorial communications with the authors in improving the articles.
2. Confidentiality
Articles received for reviewing must be treated as confidential documents.
3. Standards of Objectivity
Reviews should be objective.
4. Disclosure and Conflict of Interest
Information or ideas of articles must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage.

Duties of Authors

1. Reporting standards
The report of original research of an author should present an accurate account of the work performed and objective discussion. Data should be  accurate in the article. An article should be contained detail and references.

2. Data Access and Retention
Authors provide the raw data for editorial review of articles and should be prepared to provide data so public can access.
3. Originality and Plagiarism
The authors should ensure original articles.
4. Multiple, Redundant or Concurrent Publication
An author should not in representing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same article to more than one journal constitutes is unacceptable.
5. Acknowledgement of Sources
Proper acknowledgment of the articles/research of others must always be given. Authors should cite influential publications.
6. Authorship of the Paper
Authorship will be given to those who have made contribution to the conception, execution, interpretation or design of the article/research. Co-authors are all those who have made contributions. Contributors are others who have participated in some substantive aspects of the research.
7. Hazards and Human or Animal Subjects
If the research involves chemicals or equipment that have any unusual hazards, the authors must clearly mention in the articles.
8. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors should disclose any financial or other substantive conflict of interest in their articles. All sources of financial support for the research should be disclosed.
9. Fundamental errors in published works
When authors discover fundamental error in their own published article, the authors should notify the editorial board and cooperate with the editors to correct the paper.

Reviewer's Guideline

Manuscripts submitted to Global Insights Journal will undergo a blind review process. The reviewers are tasked to carry out reviews that include analyses and assessments of manuscripts’ acceptability to be published in Global Insights Journal. Reviewers should consider the following points prior to conducting their review:
1. Does the manuscript you are being asked to review match your expertise? If the article does not sufficiently match your area of expertise, please notify the Editorial Secretary.
2. Do you have time to review the manuscript? The review process should be completed within 2 weeks after a manuscript has been sent. If you do not agree with this condition and need more time to review, please contact the Editorial Secretary.
3. Are there any conflicts of interests with the manuscript? If you have any conflicts of interests with the manuscript, please contact the Editorial Secretary.
4. Are there any indications of plagiarism in the manuscript? If you suspect any indications of plagiarism in the manuscript, please contact the Editorial Secretary immediately.
 
Review Process:
1. Title: Does it clearly describe the manuscript?
2. Abstract: Does it reflect the content of the manuscript?
3. Introduction: The introduction should contain the general background and research questions or hypotheses. Literature review should be included in the introduction.
4. Has the manuscript met the required journal writing guideline?
 
Content:
1. If the issue relating to the reviewed manuscript has previously been published, is the manuscript sufficient to warrant publication?
2. Does the manuscript contain novelty, profound knowledge, and interesting points to warrant publication?
3. Does the manuscript contribute to the development of science and knowledge?
4. Are the main theories or references used in line with the study?
 
Method:
1. Does the author accurately describe how the data was collected?
2. Does the article answer the questions posed in the study?
3. Are new methods used? If there are new methods, are they explained in detail?
 
Results and Discussion:
The results should explain the findings of the author. This section should be written clearly in a logical sequence. Reviewers need to consider if the appropriate analysis has been conducted.
 
Conclusion:
The conclusion should contain recommendations and summary of the research. The summary should have examples of answers corresponding to the research objective or the acquired findings. The summary should not contain repetitions of research results or discussions. The recommendations provided should correlate with the concept of the conducted research or suggestions for improving the study.
 
Table and Figures:
The tables and figures presented should correlate with the article’s content and they should have clear sources of reference (such as books, journals, website, or other references)
 
References:
Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is written in the reference list using the American Psychological Association (APA) style. The references used should be published within the last 10 years, consisting of 80% from journal articles and 20% from books, theses, or other relevant publications.
 
Final Review:
1. Assessment of the manuscript review should be written in the Review Form sent by the Editorial Secretary; At the end of the review,
2. reviewers are required to give one of the following recommendations:
    a. Accepted; means that the manuscript is acceptable for publication
    b. Accepted with minor revisions; means that the manuscript is acceptable for publication once it is revised in response to the reviewers concerns
    c. Accepted with major revisions; means that substantive inadequacies in the manuscript, such as data analysis, the main theory used, and rewriting of paragraphs, need to be revised
     d. Rejected; means that the manuscript is not acceptable for publication or the given reviews relate to very basic issues Upon completion of the review form, please fill in the reviewer’s identity in the corresponding columns.

Author Fees

Costs charged to the author by Global Insights Journal:

Article Submission fee: IDR 0, - (no fees)
Article Processing fee: IDR 0, - (no fees)
Online Journal publishing fee: IDR 200.000, -
Under these conditions, Global Insights Journal also provides assistance to authors from developing countries because it does not require any costs for the process of publishing online journals.
