KEPENTINGAN AMERIKA SERIKAT TERHADAP UKRAINA (STUDI KASUS: PERSETUJUAN KONTRAK MINERAL AS-UKRAINA)
Abstract
Penelitian ini berupaya untuk mengkaji perkembangan keterlibatan AS terhadap Ukraina di mana terjadi pergeseran dari bantuan militer menjadi kemitraan ekonomi strategis, melalui lensa kerangka kerja kepentingan nasional Michael J. Nuechterlein. Studi ini menganalisis kepentingan AS terhadap Ukraina dimana Ukraina memberikan AS akses ke sumber daya mineral yang sangat penting untuk teknologi modern sebagai imbalan atas investasi bersama dalam upaya pemulihan ekonomi pasca-perang Ukraina. Dengan mengintegrasikan bantuan militer ke dalam kemitraan ekonomi, AS bertujuan untuk mendapatkan manfaat strategis jangka panjang, mendiversifikasi rantai pasokan mineral penting dari Tiongkok, dan memperkuat kedaulatan Ukraina dari agresi Rusia. Penelitian ini menjelaskan bagaimana kemitraan ini sejalan dengan kepentingan nasional AS dengan mempromosikan keamanan, pertumbuhan ekonomi, dan pengaruh geopolitik. Temuan dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa alasan dibalik kebijakan AS terkait pengajuan kontrak-kontrak mineral yang diberikan kepada Ukraina adalah karena adanya kepentingan AS terhadap akses mineral yang krusial untuk industri tekhnologi dan pertahanan.
