Abstract

Market development cannot be separated from policy efforts in handling
it by carrying out management, structuring and development as well as
monitoring market activities, however this is still far from optimal so that
market development is still not carried out in accordance with market
development. The West Bandung District Department of Industry and Trade in
its Modern Market Revitalization Activities in Padalarang District is
inseparable from efforts to achieve policies including Effectiveness, Efficiency,
Adequacy, Evenness, Responsiveness and Accuracy in order to achieve
successful market development. The research method used is a quantitative
method with data collection techniques through observation, questionnaires,
interviews and documentation.
The discussion of the Modren Market Revitalization Activity Program by
the West Bandung District Department of Industry and Trade has not been
optimal, where the arrangement for providing stall and kiosk locations has not
been on target because it is far from where people shop. The research results
show that the revitalization of the Modren Market in Padalarang District is not
yet in accordance with the location desired by the community, so many traders
sell in other locations because it is far from the reach of visitors, and there is no
strict control and sanctions by market officials against traders who sell out of
place.
The conclusion is that the Modren Market Revitalization Activity
Program has not been implemented optimally due to the market placement not
being properly advised, supervision of market officers not yet taking place in
every market activity, providing sanctions for violations committed by traders
as well as inadequate provision of waste storage and provision of vehicle
parking locations. The researcher's suggestion is that the stalls and stalls
should be placed according to the entry flow of buyers, officers should monitor
activities at each market activity, increase the number of market officers and
improve rubbish storage areas and parking locations so that market activities
can run well.
