STRATEGI EKONOMI YANG DILAKUKAN TIONGKOK UNTUK PENGEMBANGAN ENERGI TERBARUKAN MELALUI KEMITRAAN BRICS PERIODE 2018-2023

Abstract

This study examines China’s strategy in advancing renewable energy through the BRICS partnership from 2018 to 2023. As a major economic power, China has used BRICS cooperation to expand its influence in green energy through strategic investment, technology transfer, and sustainability-oriented policies. With support from initiatives like the BRICS Energy Research Cooperation Platform and the New Development Bank, China promotes renewable energy projects in Brazil, Russia, India, and South Africa. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the study analyzes economic strategies focusing on division of labor, free markets, and renewable energy pricing. While this cooperation has accelerated the energy transition and reduced fossil fuel reliance, challenges persist, including policy harmonization, infrastructure readiness, and unequal roles among members. China’s dominant role also raises concerns over dependency on its technology and funding. The study concludes that China’s involvement aids global energy transformation, but sustained progress requires policy alignment, stronger technical cooperation, and more diversified investment across BRICS nations.
