KERJA SAMA INDUSTRI PERTAHANAN INDONESIA-TURKI DALAM PENGEMBANGAN ALUTSISTA MEDIUM TANK HARIMAU TAHUN 2019-2024
Abstract
Defense cooperation is needed by various countries to get a strong partner in fostering the country's defense and security sector. This research focuses on defense cooperation between the Republic of Indonesia and the government of the Republic of Turkey in developing the needs of the Main Land Defense System (Alutsista), namely in producing the Tiger Medium Tank. This research uses Richard Bitzinger's Techno Nationalism approach which emphasizes three aspects: Pursuit of Power, Pride, and Profit. Indonesia, as a large country, seeks to build an image as a modern defense equipment producer. The Neorealism approach is used to explain how states tend to pursue national interests through international cooperation. This research also applies the concept of defense diplomacy and uses a qualitative method with analytical descriptive type. The results showed that Indonesia established defense diplomacy with Turkey to strengthen its land defense system and meet the needs of modern defense equipment.
