Abstract

Cooperation between Indonesia and South Korea in the field of defense and security technology transfer is one of the strategic efforts taken by the two countries to strengthen their respective defense capacities. In recent years, the two countries have carried out various initiatives involving technology transfer in the defense and security sector, in the form of industrial cooperation, research and training. This collaboration focuses on developing and modernizing military equipment, increasing personnel capabilities, and utilizing advanced technology in the fields of intelligence and communications. Indonesia, which is trying to increase independence in the defense industry, sees South Korea as a strategic partner that has the latest defense technology and experience in developing modern defense systems. On the other hand, South Korea also benefits from Indonesia's large and stable market as an important region in Southeast Asia. This article aims to analyze the dynamics of this collaboration, assess its impact on strengthening Indonesia's defense sector, and explore the challenges and opportunities that exist in the transfer of defense technology between the two countries. By utilizing policy analysis and case studies, it is hoped that this research can provide a deeper understanding of the potential and challenges in international cooperation in the field of defense and security.
